Yes ... She's Pregnant and In a Cage

Protesting cramped living conditions for sows, PETA activists were really showing London how bad things can get for the humble pig.
PETA Protester
This nearly-naked pregnant lass, demonstrating the plight of the porker, garnered particular attention, especially from two of the world's teeniest activists. Notice how thirsty the one on the left looks -- and how confused they both seem to be.

122. 115. How many of you with your ridicule and mean-spirited comments would have the guts to bare yourselves for something you believe in? It's easy to sit behind your computer self-righteously judging this woman who has put herself on the line to draw attention to the plight of mother pigs. It's she, not you, that her baby will be proud of.

You obviously really need to learn the difference between "guts" and common decency.

123. Why is this shocking or funny to people when in reality in every hour of every day, in every factory farm across America, the same ugly thing happens to the domesticated pig?

This ad is awesome! People need to make the connection between the meat on their plates and the unimaginable cruelty it took to get there. Imagine how miserable life is for a pregnant sow to just stand up and lie down in a cage like that for the rest of its unnaturally fertile life? This woman at least is there on her own free will and after the picture ops are done, she's out. But not the pig. Never the pig.

124. Humans are natural omnivores; herbivores and carnivores combined, and pigs are below us in the food chain. I do not apologize for my place in the food chain. That being said, I think PETA should put their 30 million a year where there mouth is, and use all of it annually to better conditions on pig farms so that the pigs can be out of the cages and have a quality of life before appearing on someone's breakfast plate. (Like that'll happen.) I am incensed that PETA play God, roaming the streets in their death vans (according to previous blogger article links) euthanizing dogs by the dozens. Who are they to say that those dogs, whilst without owners, are not enjoying their right to life and day to day existence running free, perhaps with another dog who is their doggie love? Who is to say that they wouldn't be taken home by an empathetic person the very next day? Who says a dog has to have an owner? Otters don't. Beavers don't. If the dog is surviving and not hurting any one, PETA could instead treat said dog to a free neuter/spay and release it, or find it a good home. They are killers, and they are playing God. I guess they believe in conditional 'ethics'. The word ethical has no business being the 'e' in the name P'E'TA. They cannot justify it.

125. In the fifties and sixties, if a dog roamed around without an owner, people respected its right to life, and threw it a scrap, and went on their way. If the dog hung around long enough, he became your dog, and it was a mutual understanding. That's how it worked. Now, a PETA van pulls up and they kill it in the van and dump it in a back alley bin in a plastic bag. That dog never gets the opportunity to worm his way into anyone's heart. You tell me how that is ETHICAL, PETA apologists. It isn't. I do not give PETA a penny until their practices are completely overhauledand actually become for the good of animals.

126. Alex, glad to hear that you have compassion. Most researchers aren't cruel, at least not in industry.. it's 100% prohibited and the consequences for breaking the rules are severe. Alot has changed over the years......... but it would be great to see more education, whether it be for pet owners, farmers, breeders, horse racers, etc. unless you go to a college to study animal sciences, the knowledge just isn't readily out there. PETA still does a lousy job though of getting a message across. they don't teach, just do stupid displays for attention. On a side note for everyone: what the hell is wrong with being an omnivore, really?

128. Peta TRULY SUCKS, who in the hell do they think they are? Yes, I love animals but these people have really gone off the deep end with their judgement and their tactics.

If I was the mom of one of these two kids, I'd be DEMANDING AN APOLOGY, and would want to slap everybody in sight who was responsible, or participating in this. Including the preganant woman. Who in the hell thought this was a good idea? What decent pregnant woman would do this, it's friggin disgusting.

In order to prove whatever point they are trying to make, their attempts are cheesy and NASTY. After their very MEAN SPIRITED indecent attack on the Olsen twins, I've lost all respect for them, and now this GEEZ. Whomever makes their decisions for promotion...NEEDS TO BE FIRED, and PETA has lost a LOT OF SUPPORT, especially from me.

129. Do you think Upton Sinclair was thinking of THIS when he was writing "The Jungle"? This woman looks remotely ready to be "split" in Packingtown.

131. She's dressing up as a lion next, as a dig to all meat-eating lions, in apology to all zebra and antelope who are lower on the food chain and as a snap! dig to all lions.
Lions need to become veggies, as should all humans.

132. Why is it that PETA is always having women stand around naked to show how they won't wear fur or how curel animals are being treated? What about some naked men that won't wear fur? Or is this just a symptom of the depravity of the current leadership of PETA? Do they just like seeing naked women?
